Dr Evan Woo

MOH-Accredited Specialist

Breast Cancer Surgery

My life’s work is driven by the need to help women who are facing the physical, psychological and emotional complexities of breast cancer and breast surgery.

As part of my surgical training, I was awarded the Ministry of Health Scholarship to undergo comprehensive training in both breast surgical oncology and microsurgical reconstruction.

This has given me the unique ability to provide full-spectrum breast care, which includes breast cancer surgery, breast augmentation, breast reduction and breast deformity correction.

For many women, the thought of surgery for breast cancer can feel overwhelming. My role is to provide you with clarity and assurance. You will not be rushed, but will have the time and support you need to make a more informed decision about your treatment, which will be done in a timely manner.

‘You’ll never be offered a “one-size-fits-all” solution, as every woman is different and I will create a custom-tailored approach for each patient.‘

1. Ultrasound

Ultrasound offers a safe and detailed way of looking at breast tissue. Using high-definition 2D and 3D imaging, it provides clarity on areas of concern.

  • Vascular assessment helps understand blood flow in breast tissue.
  • Elastography and shear wave imaging measure tissue stiffness, supporting early detection.
  • AI diagnostics assist in improving accuracy and interpretation.

2. Mammography

Mammography remains a key part of breast screening. With both 2D multiplane and modern 3D tomosynthesis, it allows our breast specialist to view tissue in great detail.

  • Contrast-enhanced mammography may also be used, offering further insight where needed

3. MRI

For certain cases, breast MRI can provide a deeper understanding.

  • Dedicated breast coils ensure high-quality images.
  • All scans are reviewed only by fellowship-trained radiologists, giving you confidence in your results.

5. Biopsy

When a closer look is needed, a biopsy provides clear answers. We use targeted and gentle methods, tailored to each situation:

  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy
  • Stereotactic-guided biopsy
  • MRI-guided biopsy

Each is performed with your comfort in mind, using techniques that minimise pain and reduce recovery time.
